# churpie

> Churpie is a free group video card. One person (the host) starts a card for someone and sends one link. Everyone who loves that person records about 15 seconds on their phone, with no app and no account, or writes a short note. Churpie stitches the messages into one reel with music and names, and the host sends it to them. Made by Sherwood Digital in Flagstaff, Arizona.

## Facts

- Price: free for people, always. No ads, no per-card fees, no trial.
- Accounts: none, for anyone. The host gets a private board link; contributors just tap the invite link.
- Recording: in the phone's browser, with the phone's own camera app, or by uploading a saved video. Written notes work too.
- Message length: about 15 seconds each (or 30, if the host chooses). Up to 50 people per card.
- Host controls: watch messages as they arrive, reorder them, hide any, set a last day to add messages, then make the reel.
- Occasions: birthdays (kids, teens, milestone birthdays), graduations, retirements, team send-offs, get well soon, welcome home, thank yous, and memorials. Each card has a look and music that suit the moment; memorial cards are quiet and never use party themes.
- Privacy: invites, boards and reels are private links and are not indexed. The reel and all messages are deleted 30 days after the reel is made (the host can add 30 days once). Unfinished cards with no new messages for 30 days are deleted 14 days later.
- Best for: groups of friends, families, classmates, teammates and coworkers who want one shared video for a person, without paying or signing anyone up.
- Not for: long video editing, live video calls, or hosting videos long-term.
